- How can I improve the sound quality if it seems distorted (muddy or staticy), especially on loud bass?
Turn down the volume on your phone, and up on the car stereo. This should improve the sound.
- I hear a noise when no music is playing, like a whine or hum. Is there a solution?
This is caused by a ground loop in the car’s electrical system. Please contact TUNAI for help, or use a ground loop isolator to suppress the sound.
- What do I do if the Firefly seems to be getting hot?
Overheating is a sign that the USB charger or port is unstable and exceeding 5V—please check your USB charger.
- Sometimes the Firefly doesn’t reconnect to the phone. What can I do?
‘Forget’ all devices from your phone’s Bluetooth menu, restart the phone, and pair with the Firefly again. If you’re still having trouble, please contact TUNAI.
- The USB port doesn’t seem able to power the Firefly. Is there a solution?
The Firefly takes very little power (~20mW), causing some car USB ports to be unable to detect the Firefly and shut off power. Select models of Mini Cooper and BMW are known to have this issue. Switching to a USB cigarette adapter will solve the problem.
- Can I take calls with Firefly?
No. If you need to take calls, please check out the Firefly Chat.
