Description

This Nice 3002DS single-row radial ball bearing is double shielded and has a nylon cage and precision ground surfaces. It is suitable for applications that require quiet operation and support light radial loads at speeds up to 3000 rpm. This case-hardened ASTM International 52100 bearing quality steel bearing has a 0.2500" bore diameter, a 0.6875" outside diameter, and a 0.2500" width. Its outside diameter (OD) and raceways are ground to a precision of +0.0000 and -0.0005", allowing higher speeds and creating lower friction than comparable-sized roller bearings. Metal shields on both sides of the bearing keep out contaminants such as dirt and grime and hold in the lubricant applied at manufacture. This bearing has a straight bore for fitting to conventional cylindrical shafts and a nylon cage to prevent the balls from coming into contact with each other during use, reducing friction, vibration, and noise. This radial ball bearing is suitable for use in commercial and industrial applications including household appliances, power tools, original equipment or replacement parts in motors, office automation, and conveyor rollers.

Rolling bearings use rolling elements to maintain the separation between moving parts to reduce rotational friction and support radial and axial loads. These elements can be one of the following types: ball, cylindrical, spherical, barrel, needle, spindle, or tapered. All rolling bearings are open, shielded, or sealed. Sealed bearings are lubricated with oil or grease in the bearing factory, while open and shielded bearings are meant to be lubricated in place, with periodic reapplication of lubrication, based on use. The shield protects the working parts of the bearing from environmental debris that may be introduced and could reduce the ball bearing speed and lifespan. Rolling bearings are used in a range of applications from agricultural machinery to conveying equipment, robotics, dental equipment, elevators, rolling mills, ship rudder shafts, and aggregate crushers, among others.

RBC Bearings manufactures bearings, pins, rollers, and shafts, and other products for industrial and aerospace applications under the RBC, Nice, Heim, Unibal, and Spherco brands.
