PULLEYS INSTRUCTIONS : The pulley is fixed on kayak by Pan Eye and Snap Hook.
The standard location for the pulleys will be above the WATER LINE of the kayak, approximately 9-12 inches from the bow and stern.
This will enable the “pole-setting ring” to travel the entire length of the boat.
1.The first step is to fit the pad eyes at either end of the kayak. The pad eye will have a karabiner and pulley attached to it,which the trolley line will run between. We recommend the pad eye to be as close to the back as possible.
approximately 7-10 inches from the bow and stern.Once you find a good spot for the Pad Eyes,Mark the mounting hole.
Using the Bolts with a Washer and Nyloc Nut on the inside of the hull.use a 3/16 drill bit to make holes .if no inside access .use rivets (use 1/8" drill bit if using the screws),
after install pad eyes, used the Stainless Steel Karabiner to attach Pulley to the pad eyes.
2.Using other pan eyes as a guide for the trolley line : Pad eyes will help keep the trolley line in posit.Mount on edge similar to you installed the pulley.
How many you use is up to you,and depends on the length of the trolley and how well supported you want the line to be.
We recommend install pad eye 1/3 the distance from the rear and front of the kayak .
Make sure to angle the bottom of the pad eyes toward the center line of your boat .
This angle toward the middle of the boat helps prevent the rope from sagging.all holes pleas use silicone to make the holes waterproof.
--------
TROLLEY LINE INSTALLTION : Feed the line up through the pulley on the bow, across and through the pad eyes and down through the other pulley on the stem.
Next, the two cord ends should be tied to the Pole Setting Ring to complete the trolley system(“Barrel” or “Clinch” knots are recommended ).
1.First, tie one of the loose cord ends directly to Pole Ring.
2.Then insert remaining loose cord end through ring and pull cord until desired amount of slack has been removed.
3.Once cord length for optimal system tension has been determined, leaving enough extra for later adjustments just in case.
4.Finally, trim off excess cord and singe ends with lighter or matches to prevent fraying.
-------
NOTE: Optional installation,The Anchor Trolley kit comes with a bungee cord .
This serves two purposes. It will help to dampen and absorb some of the kayaks movement when anchored in lively conditions, and it will also keep the anchor trolley line taut to the kayak hull.
This bungee cord loop can be passed through the bow pad eye and held in place against the eye by the plastic bead.
WITHOUT bungee cord will not affect the use of Anchor Trolley.
