Working Principle:
The JSN-SR04T has a transducer that is connected via a 2.5m cable.
These sensor modules are divided into 2 separate parts, the transducer and the control board.

The transducer works according to the simple formula given below: Distance = Velocity x Time

Ultrasonic waves are emitted by an ultrasonic transmitter. This ultrasonic wave travels through the air and whenever it is blocked by any object/material, it is reflected back to the transducer and this reflected wave is observed and measured by the ultrasonic receiver module is observed and measured.
The distance is now measured using the above equation and known values of velocity and time. The common propagation speed of ultrasonic waves at room temperature is 330m/s.
This circuit is built into the module and is used to calculate the time it takes for the ultrasonic wave to return while the return pin is set high, which helps to understand how long the process takes.
The distance is calculated by using a microprocessor/microcontroller.
