PRODUCTION PROCESS OF OUR STEP DRILL
.Material Selection: The first step is to select a material suitable for the step drill. Using High Speed Steel (HSS)
.Blank preparation: The selected material is obtained in the form of a blank, which is a cylindrical rod with a larger diameter than the final stepped drill bit. Blanks are usually obtained by processes such as forging, extrusion or bar.
.Grinding and Shaping: The blank is then machined using a grinding operation to obtain the desired shape for the step drill. This involves using a precision grinder to remove excess material and form the flutes, steps and cutting edges of the drill.
.Heat Treatment and Nitriding: Partially formed step bits are heat treated to increase hardness, strength and durability. The specific heat treatment process can vary depending on the materials used.
.Finishing operations: After heat treatment and nitriding, step drills undergo final grinding and polishing operations to obtain precise dimensions, smooth surfaces and sharp cutting edges. This ensures the precision and performance of the drill.
.Quality Control: Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure that stepped bits meet specified standards and tolerances. This may involve dimensional inspection, hardness testing and visual inspection.
