We are no longer able to supply 1/2 inch L-shaped cushion rubber in convenient lengths for a Bar Billiards table. If you need 1/2 inch L-shaped rubber, we sell it in snooker sets of 6 pieces but the length may not be long enough to cover a complete side sufficiently for some tables. It is not ideal but it is possible to splice 2 lengths of rubber together by cutting the ends diagonally and ensuring a close contact. Also note that the first foot or so on each side does not need rubber.
For most Bar Billiards tables, 5/8 inch L-shaped cushion rubber will work, even if the the table was originally fitted with 1/2 inch L-shaped rubber. This works for Jelks, Bar Billiards Ltd., Padmore, Clare, Sams, Thurston, Ashcroft and other 6 x 3 feet Bar Billiards tables. Unfortunately, while we used to sell 3 x 6 foot lengths of Northern Rubber, this is no longer available so again, splicing shorter lengths is a solution or, for some tables, a length of 4 feet starting from the far corners down either side may be sufficient anyway.
An alternative to L-shaped rubber is 3/8 x 1/4 inch rectangular section rubber. This is normally fitted to Bagatelle tables, small snooker tables and small pool tables and will also suit certain smaller Bar Billiards table styles.
For most Bar Billiards tables, the rubber should be stuck directly on to the timber of the cushion using any high impact adhesive suitable for rubber. We have Neoprene impact adhesive which is perfect for this job. The Neoprene glue does not crystalize under the repeated impact of balls or hands so should last longer than Superglue or other adhesives found in high street shops.
