[50 Dye Chips White]
Candle wax is naturally off-white or can have a slight yellow tint. To achieve a more true white candle, crafters often turn to our white candle dye to help achieve a more white color. Our white dye is made of pigments that are meant to lighten or brighten the color of the wax. These dyes work by dispersing microscopic particles throughout the wax, altering its color by reflecting light. Some waxes have limitations in how much they can be tinted so achieving a consistent, uniform white color can be difficult. Do not expect any white dyes to turn a candle completely white.
The white dye should primarily be used to:
Why should you choose our candle dye?
Our dye chips are designed to make the candle making process easy. Each color has been carefully formulated to achieve the prefect color in both paraffin and soy wax. Follow the simple instructions below when using our dye.
Melt your candle wax using a double boiler or wax melter until it reaches the recommended temperature. This is typically around 185° F.
Add your desired amount of diamond dye chips. We recommend starting with 1 dye chip per 1 pound of paraffin wax or 2 dye chips per 1 pound of soy wax.
Stir the wax and dye until the dye chips are completely melted and all dye has dissolved.
Carefully pour the wax into a candle mold or container. Let the candle cool and harden for at least 24 hours.
What type of wax is this dye compatible with?
Our dye is specifically formulated for soy and paraffin wax although many people use it with a variety of waxes (palm, coconut, etc). We do not recommend using our dye with gel wax or yellow beeswax as the natural yellow color may alter the dye.
How can I make the color of my candles look the same as the pictured candles?
To achieve the same color as the pictured candles use IGI 4625 Paraffin Wax or Blended Waxes BW-921 Soy Wax following our recommended ratio of 1 dye chip per 1 lb of paraffin or 2 dye chips per 1 lb of soy wax.
Is this candle dye safe for skin contact?
Yes. This dye is non-toxic but we recommend wearing gloves when handling the dye to avoid staining your skin. Alcohol wipes work best to remove dye from skin. DO NOT INGEST OR SWALLOW.
Can I mix these dyes to create new colors?
Yes! Get creative and mix the colors to create your own personalized candle. The white dye chips are a great way to lighten colors or pastel-ize the shade. The dye chips can be easily cut into small pieces for mixing.
Our highly concentrated dye creates beautiful, long-lasting colors in your candles. Easily achieve stunning results, from soft pastels to bold, rich tones. Plus, our dye is formulated to be simple to use, blending smoothly and evenly into your wax for a perfect finish every time.
