Description

The Precision Twist TS10 short series, aircraft-threaded, hex shank split-point drill bit is made of high-speed steel (HSS) with a steam tempering (also called black oxide) finish. Designed for medium-duty service, they are good for drilling into low tensile strength materials in confined spaces.

The TS10 series has a type N flute form, with a regular helix (21- to 34-degree) angle, and is designed for aircraft industry, but also work well in other industries. The short length and 135-degree split point drill geometry provide good maneuverability in confined spaces and help ensure an accurate hole by reducing walking when the hole is started. The finish retains lubricants to aid in wear resistance and chip flow. HSS assures good performance at an economical cost.

Drilling, or hole making, is the most common metalworking operation in the world. Twist drill bits are the most common type of drill bit used. Twist drill bits can be used in hand-operated drills, standalone drill presses, or a lathe. They are made to ANSI and NAS 907 type 965 industry standards, which ensure that drill bits around the world conform to the same specifications.

Dormer Pramet manufactures cutting tools under the following brands: Precision Twist Drill, Dormer, Union Butterfield and Pramet. The company has locations around the world, and provides tools adhering to ANSI, NAS, and DIN standards.
