  • Our terrestrial flies are hand tied by professional tiers using only premium materials and quality hooks.
  • Try fishing these dry flies casting upstream and carefully stripping the line in as the fly floats back downstream past likely holding spots.
  • Practice not allowing any unnatural drag from the leader to affect the fly - you want your fly to ride the current naturally as a live insect would - just give them an occasional realistic twitch to imitate a grasshopper caught in the current.
  • You can also splash them against undercut banks or river edges where hoppers naturally land in the water during the heat of summer.
  • These high floating foam body hoppers are also excellent strike indicator flies - try using a small bead head Copper John or other bead head nymph tied 2-3 feet below the hopper.
