The fabric may have a distinctive smell that can be removed with just a few simple steps.
Step 1: Hang the fabric in a dry, ventilated place for a few hours.
Step 2: Sprinkle baking soda on the burlap and let it sit for an hour.After an hour, shake the baking soda off the fabric.
Step 3: If the smell still lingers, soak the hessian in white vinegar for 30 minutes.After 30 minutes, rinse well with water and let dry.
