Feature

●CHASING HAMMER: This two-sided embossing tool features a smooth, slightly rounded face that is used for chasing or indenting metal, while the ball shaped side is used for peening or smoothing out dents in metal. Use to shape malleable metals such as pewter, sterling silver, aluminum, brass, copper, and nickel silver.
●METALWORKING: A 10.75-inch wooden handle is the base for this two-sided hammer and features a rounded end that increases hammer control and reduces hand fatigue often associated with metalsmithing. The 2.25-inch steel head weighs 3.5oz and has a 14mm ball pein face that is used for adding texture while the 28mm domed face is ideal for dapping metal.
●BENCH BLOCK: Made of hardened steel this durable metal stamping table is scratch and dent resistant. Great for personal use as well, the block measures 1.5 x 1.5 inches, perfect for up close, detailed stamping on a pendant, metal blank or jewelry tag. The hole in the corner is meant for riveting and bending.
●FLAT SURFACE: The square block allows you to lay out your designs before using hammers, a rubber mallet, and other tools. Use the surface to make sure your project is just how you want it before you commit to stamping, stringing, hammering, or soldering.

Chasing

Chasing is a technique in which the piece is hammered on the front side, sinking the metal using chasing tools and the chasing hammer.

Finishing & Hardening

Add finish to edges of cut blanks or harden and flatten wire so it keeps it shape for jewelry and decoration.

Texturing

Use the ball peen side of the chasing hammer to add some texture or dimples to your metal or hardened wire.

Easily identified by its uniquely shaped handle: rounded and larger at one end and thin where the head is attached. The “springy” handle increases hammer control and reduces hand fatigue.
