I wrote this book as a pathway for designers to think about wire as a dimensional, sculptural medium in jewelry making. Its more about technique and ideas and less about how to make this one thing exactly like I made it. Imprint these ideas with your own aesthetic, take what inspires you into bold new directions. You dont have to like my designs to get something of value from this book. Ive spent many years defying convention and stretching beading and shaping wire into unexpected directions. If youre looking for a book of pieces to replicate, this may not be the best choice for you. If youre looking for a book of ideas to kick start your creativity and challenge your current approaches and jump start your creativity, this may be it.
My designs are purposefully unique, and they are meant to challenge and confront rather than mimic trends or the work of other designers. This is a book about wire, shaping wire and beading wire. I have been working with both for many years. There may be something of value for you here if youre interested in exploring new pathways of creativity with the medium of wire.
