Feature(may vary by option.)

●Tap & Die Set: M6 x 0.5 metric tap and die set can make new threads or re-thread damaged or jammed threads, good for general purpose applications. Clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction.
●Applications: The round die can process, correct or clean the external threads. The thread tap is suitable for processing through hole or shallow hole female threads. Suitable for tapping stainless steel, aluminum alloy, cast iron, copper, iron, aluminum, plastic in maintenance and repair work.
●Features: High speed steel straight flute tap provides rapid downward chip removal for efficient threading, with combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Alloy tool steel die is with conical locking hole, strong locking, not loose, hardness, high torque, good toughness and wear resistance.
●Easy to Use: Round dies can be used with die wrench (not included). The fastening screw in the middle of the wrench should be inserted into the slot of the die and tightened. Machine taps are used on drill presses, tapping machines, CNC and milling machines.
●Tips: Used with tapping oil can get higher quality threads and make taps and dies more durable. Suitable lubricating oil should be added to the cutting edge of dies and taps when tapping. It needs to be reversed every 1/4~1/2 turn to facilitate the chip discharge from the die chip hole.

Information

When tapping, appropriate lubricating oil is good for cutting or cooling, making the cutting easier and faster, improving the smoothness and dimensional accuracy, and helping to extend the service life.

The following lubricants are recommended: steel - cutting oil, machine oil; pig iron - dry oil; aluminum - kerosene; stainless steel - mixed kerosene; hard plastic - dry oil. Be sure to select the appropriate cutting oil for complex tapping process and apply anti-rust oil for maintenance after use.

Round Threading Dies

The round dies can process, correct or clean external threads. Conical locking hole, strong locking and not loose. Great for maintenance and repair work on pipes, boards and machinery.

Applications

Perfect for rethreading existing threads in hard materials like metal, or making new threads in softer material such as plastic.

Easy to Use

Suitable for tapping stainless steel, aluminum alloy, cast iron, copper, iron, aluminum, plastic, etc.. NOT suitable for tile, concrete, walls, stone, etc.

Alloy Tool Steel Dies

  • High hardness
  • Wear resistance
  • High hardening capacity
  • Tempering resistance

Tips for Round Dies

The end of the bar should be chamfered 1*45 degree, and the chamfer is too large to cut in. The bar diameter should be smaller ( about 0.05mm-0.15mm) than the nominal diameter of the required thread. Excessive diameter can easily cause difficult cutting and lead to damage to the die teeth.

It needs to be reversed every 1/4~1/2 turn to facilitate the chip discharge from the chip hole. When tapping, add suitable lubricating oil to the cutting edge, and repeat the operation 3-4 times until the thread length is obtained. When using by hand, pay attention to even force and avoid blind force.

Straight Flute Thread Taps

Straight flute design, downward chip removal, fast tapping with accuracy. Suitable for processing through holes or shallow blind holes. Perfect for drilling and tapping aluminum, zinc, alloy etc..

Easy to Use

Used on drilling machines, tapping machines, CNC and milling machines. Use with tapping oil to get higher quality threads and more durable taps.

Coatings

Features just the base substrate without any additional coatings, suitable for wide ranges of applications.

High Speed Steel Taps

  • High hardness
  • High wear resistance
  • High heat resistance
  • Good process performance
  • Good strength and toughness

Tips for Thread Taps

Machine taps are suggested to be used with tap collets with overload protection. Hand use or electric drills use is easy to cause breakage to the tap, so it is not recommended. Recommended feed rate: general steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min.

The torque caused by too fast feed speed is too large, which can easily cause the tap to break. Micro taps are mainly used in clocks and watches for machining holes in wood and soft metals with low hardness.
