How could I remove the magnet without scratching the surface?
The magnet wont scratch the surface if you use it properly. Also you could use the pads to protect the surface from scratches, but it might influence the magnetic holding power.
Could the eyebolt hook be replaced when it is found that the hooks are damaged or missing after receiving?
