Description

"A small vicious animal that eats Mustangs," was General Motors direct reply to the American muscle car revolution by introducing the Chevrolet Camaro to compete in the pony car race. Considered part of the second generation, the remodeled Camaro Z28 was given a lower, longer, bulked up look offering a V8 engine. This model was introduced in 1979 and was the year that had the highest ever sales for any generation. Not only popular on the streets, this is also a favorite on the track. Seen in Trans-Am, Drag, NASCAR, Touring, IMSA GT, and IROC. These beauties have become a staple in American Culture and helped build a love for power and speed that will hold a place in any car enthusiasts heart. Qualifying a credible 6th, the Camaro of Belgian drivers Michel de Deyne, Teddy Pilette and ‘Davit’ were running well at the sodden 1981 Spa 24hr race, until a car failure sadly put them out the race.
