Make sure you pack your garlic prior to removal!
FAQ:
How do I peel the garlic skin?
Grip the Garlic Twister, and give the clove a "whack!". This loosens the skin for quick removal.
The garlic gets "stuck" in the unit after twisting.
Make sure you pack the garlic into "triangles" prior to removal (see picture above), this gets it out from between the teeth.
To form the two triangles, twist in one direction until you form two triangles. Then, twist in the opposite direction to compact your ingredients and gather the garlic off the teeth. Finally, turn again to push the ingredients to the middle.
I have wrist arthritis. Can I use the Garlic Twister?
People with more severe wrist arthritis may have a harder time. However, many people with milder arthritis are able to use the gadget.
Here are a few tips: - Grip the Garlic Twister and give the garlic clove a "slap" to loosen the clove. This fractures the clove allowing subsequent twisting to be much easier. - When twisting, work your way down. Dont start with the unit fully closed. Start with just 2-3 cloves until you get used to the motion. Once you are familiar with it, you can do up to 5-6 cloves at a time (thats what we do!)
How do I clean the unit?
First, make sure you twist to form the triangles as mentioned above to prevent garlic from being stuck between the teeth. For cleaning, a quick rinse under the faucet or in the dishwasher will do the trick.
Is this BPA-free?
Yes it is! This is made of Tritan - dishwasher safe, BPA free material. Remember the Nalgene bottles? Thats it! We would not trust other products that claim to be BPA free.
