Leaf spring sliders bolt on in place of shackles. Heavy duty versions feature roller bearings that keepcar from binding up during suspension movement. Comes with brass bushing for 1" I.D. spring eye. Designed for Fits Chrysler type mono-leaf and multi-leaf racing springs. They must be altered and modified to work with the Camaro/Nova/Firebird leaf springs. Eliminates "jacking" problem associated with loading & unloading of the shackles. Helps maintain consistent spring rate for predictable handling. More rigid than typical shackle/bushing combination. Requires periodic lubrication of the bearings. Spring Type: Fits Chrysler. Spring Width: 2-3/4 " Spring Eye Rear: 1 " I.D. Mounting holes on width are 1-13/16 " center-to-center. Mounting holes on length are 3 " and 5-1/16 " Leaf spring sliders can eliminate the up and down movement of the rear spring eye caused by shackles moving through their arcs during suspension travel. Consequently, the rear suspensions loading points displace less during suspension movement. Sliders, depending on their installed angle, generally reduce the "shackle effect " and provide more consistent spring rates than shackles. There is no "shackle effect " to the rate of the spring when the slider is mounted to point directly at the front spring eye center (this is the preferred mounting position). Since sliders are usually more rigid than shackles, they have less tendency to bind laterally during cornering. In general, sliders improve the handling consistency and predictability of leaf spring equipped race cars. Spring Type: Fits Chrysler. Spring Width: 2-3/4 " Spring Eye Rear: 1 " I.D.
