Description

Precision Lockwasher

Whittet-Higgins precision series shaft lockwashers for bearing & power transmission assemblies function by mounting the keyed and tanged shaft lockwasher between the bearing or other power transmission component and the corresponding locknut. The locknut is mounted and torqued up the shaft forcing the lockwasher forward until the desired preload and assembly seating is established. The locknut is rotationally adjusted to have the nearest slot and tang aligned; then the tang of the lockwasher is bent into the slot of the locknut which prevents the power transmission components from disassembling during operation.

Benefits:
--Precision ground parallel faces ensure straightness to thread shaft & assembly
--Provides accurate angular positioning
--Provides accurate preloading of bearings &other mechanical components
--Designed to retain assemblies from loosening from larger forces of vibration, shock-loading, and torque
--Most cost effect precision bearing retaining line offered
--No special tools required for installation of locknut and lockwasher
--Effective on both soft and hardened shafts
--Meets and exceeds specifications of ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1991
--Manufactured in USA
--RoHS Compliant
Applications:
--High precision assemblies
--Gear box assemblies
--Packaging equipment
--Pump manufacturers
--Numerous other machinery and equipment applications
