Description

In 1926, Tom Blake took a hunk of redwood, drilled a bunch of holes in it, and encased it in thinner wood to build a 15 foot, 19 inch wide, 4 inch thick, 100 pound surfboard. The natives pointed and laughed at him until the additional volume of the "Cigar board" smoked all of them in the water. Blakes design became the first mass produced board in 1930. Since then, other lighter products such as balsa wood and styrofoam have been used as an insert. The shape has been refined but surfboards with an increased amount of volume have been helping beginner surfers ever since.

Surfing is supposed to be fun, right? How much more fun can you have surfing on a virtually indestructible foam top surfboard that is going to help you catch every wave that comes along. Whether youre an expert surfer who just wants to take it easy and catch a few waves or looking for a beginner surfboard to stand up on, a foam soft top surfboard is for all levels.

Enhanced Size and Shape

The traditional choice for beginners has always been the longboard. It offers plenty of volume and stability for those starting out and is easy to paddle and get up on. The addition of a soft foam shell and two stringers means this board is super durable and very forgiving. We added some rocker to the board wont pearl, or nosedive in the water, so youll be able to catch a lot of waves and stay on them longer.

Square Tail Optimized For Speed And Maneuverability

This board has a thruster set up with 3 removable fins. It features a square tail that allows water to easily get released out the back. This translates into a skatier or looser feel, which is great to shift direction quickly and do many different maneuvers on the shoulder. This coupled with the fin setup can get you either more control or extra speed.

Sleek Design

An application of vacuumed lamination makes this board more water resistant compared to other beginner boards on the market. The rounded nose is good for stability and adds the possibility of nose riding, with the addition of the Kona logo and a variety of colors to choose from so you can surf in style.

Slick Bottom Optimized For Speed And Protection

The diamond-weave net bottom will give the rider maximum protection from scratches and heavy impact damage that can occur from travel, storage, and obstacles in the water. The slick bottom also enhances the boards speed on the water. The rider can ride the board comfortably knowing that their board is protected, and that the waves will be their best friend.
