Founded in1981 and owned by President Marie West, creator of the first one-piece wrap-around-the-body garment (thus the name Body Wrappers), the company now thirty-eight years old, has grown to become a leading global brand with an organizational staff of more than 375 employees. In 2008 Body Wrappers merged with Angelo Luzio, a Canadian shoe manufacturer, headed by the late founders son Luigi Luzio, who researches and works with dancers to custom design each dance shoe style himself.
