Feature

●Purpose - The Willard Cue Tip Shaper is designed to quickly and accurately reshape your cue tip to the perfect dime radius of 0.358 in. every time.
●Precision - With the Willard Shaper youll be able to maintain a perfect and consistent curved dime radius necessary to accurately hit the ball.
●The carbon brazed steel grit on the inside of the domed shaped interior is designed to ensure a lifetime of reliable usage. The gauge design on the side of every Willard Shaper is made as a precise indicator in measuring the perfect tip shape.
●Portable - At a diameter of 1-1/2" the Willard Cue Tip Shaper is small enough to take with you on the go, and by using the punched hole on the side of the Willard Shaper you can easily carry your shaper on a key chain.
●Use - By holding the Willard Dime Shaper in the palm of your hand and pushing the carbon brazed steel grit down on the cue tip of your cue moving the shaft of your cue back and forth in a clockwise and counterclockwise motion youll be able to quickly return your cue tip to the perfect dime radius. The gauge on the side indicates the perfect dime radius is achieved when no light passes through the crescent gap between the Willard and your cue tip.

What Sets Willard Apart

Instead of black silica or foil grit work, the brazen metal grit of a Willard Cue Tip shaper maintains a significantly shaper edge that only the brazen steel grit can provide. Choosing a relatively fine steel grit can shape away small portions of the cue tip with each successive turn. The choice to use a relatively fine steel grit was chosen as a way to evenly completely coat the interior of the dome shaped interior of the Willard while also providing more than enough grit to easily shape away the cue tip.

What about Willards Processing?

Instead of being glued into the interior of the shaper the low carbon steel grit is brazed at over 500 degrees Celsius into the dome shaped interior of the Willard Shaper. Processing is done such that metal grit will evenly adhere to the dome shaped interior of the Willard. When the metal grit particles and the dome shaped interior are brazed together the grit is adhered into the interior of the shaper. The reasoning behind why this technique is chosen over being glued to the interior stems from the fact when particles are glued together they have the tendency to attach to one another rather than the domed shaped interior, resulting in multiple particles prematurely falling out.

Brand History

Based out of Aurora Illinois, James Williard in 1985, founder of the Willard’s Cue Tip Products was searching for a more efficient and consistent way to treat his cue’s tip. James knowing with each successive contact of the cue tip with the ball the tip would flatten slightly more and more. With The inconsistency of an improperly shaped tip the need to compensate for where the contact occurred between the ball and his cue’s tip became tiresome. Even with the traditional use of a hand file and one’s personal eyesight James was not sold on the idea that this was the most consistent way to shape his cue tips. As a skilled machinist James innovated and reworked his design to include features that would provide the highest level of precision when reshaping his cue tip. The first being a build-in gauge to ensure the proper radius of the tip was made. The Second being a brazed steel grit positioned on the inside of the dome shaped interior of the tip.

How to Use

To quickly return your cue tip to the perfect radius, hold the Willard Shaper in the palm of your hand, push the brazed steel grit down on the tip of your cue and twist the shaft back and forth. By placing the build-in gauge of the Willard on the cue tip; the crescent shaped radius of the Willard would show the proper shaping of the cue tip had been achieved when no visible light would pass between the cue tip and the Willards crescent shaped radius notch located on the side.
