Ojibwe. French and British fur traders said the nearly nine mile trail
around Pigeon Falls between Lake Superior and the Canadian wilderness was
“indispensably necessary” for travel and commerce the late 1700’s. Anyone
portaging over the “Great carrying place” would no doubt trade ruthlessly

tumpline take some of the pain out of a long portage. A wide 9” side gusset
provides storage for a lot of gear. The expandable top flaps adjust to
