Description

This 40mm eyepiece has the longest focal length in the 52° LER eyepiece series and features an incredible 27.1mm interpupillary deviation for unprecedented viewing comfort. The 40mm eyepiece is also the only 2.0-inch eyepiece in this series. Explore Scientific now offers three 40mm eyepieces in its collection, the other two are the 62° and 68° series eyepieces. This focal length is ideal for deep-sky observers who want to use their telescope with minimal magnification to find less bright celestial objects and details. The extra-large field of view is perfect for deep sky objects such as Andromeda Galaxy, the Rosette Nebula as well as for large star clusters and comets.

The retractable silicone eyecup guarantees optimal comfort of use. Glasses wearers often find it difficult to observe the entire field of vision. This problem is now a thing of the past. These eyepieces are excellent flat-field multi-element eyepieces that will change your viewing experience. Patented EMD treatment provides better contrast and prevents annoying reflections. One of the other great advantages of this eyepiece is the very extraordinary high sharpness that is noticeable especially when observing the planets and the Moon but also when observing deep sky objects. With a highly corrected visual field of 52 degrees, these eyepieces offer unparalleled quality compared to a conventional Plössl eyepiece. The eyepiece is filled with argon to effectively prevent condensation formation inside while preventing the ingress of dust, mold or cleaning fluids. The eyepieces are fully waterproof. This means that these high quality eyepieces will help you to keep your eyes on your own...
