AAwipes is a one-stop-shop for critical cleaning products like cleanroom wipes, lab swabs, sticky mats, etc. As a vertically integrated brand, we offer comprehensive collections of swabs and detailed product information to meet your needs.
Polyester swabs are produced using automated processes that thermally bond knitted polyester fibers. They exhibit strong resistance to most solvents and are effective at scrubbing away tough grease, partially cured adhesives, and flux residues.
Foam swabs consist of compressed open cell polyurethane foam firmly fixed onto a polystyrene shaft. They are great for cleaning electronics, keyboards, and tight spaces, offering excellent absorbency, purity, and precision cleaning, as well as liquid application and surface sampling.
Choose right swabs:
1.Identify substrates & soils
2.Select size & head
3.Know solvent compatibility
Choose swabs with long and flexible shaft (>5”) (857A, 714C).
Choose polyester swabs with combined cleanliness & strength (857A, 756A).
Choose foam swabs for low cost & good conformity (714C, 709C).
Consider static dissipative swabs (750DF) for electronics.

#1. How many foam swab types are currently available from AAwipes?
AAwipes has a selection of four foam swab subtypes, including the economical and absorbent open-cell polyurethane (PU) C714C, the stronger and less absorbent close-cell PU C709C, the close-cell ESD safe E750DF, and the double-end swabs D7220 & D7230.
#2. What are characteristics of foam swabs constructed with open-cell polyurethane, namely C714C, C5160C, C5709C, C709C?
Open-cell polyurethane foam swabs are superior to cotton due to their durability and cleanliness. They are affordable, highly absorbent, and do not leave fibers behind. They are best used with alcohol but should be avoided with harsh solvents.
#3. What are characteristics of microfiber swabs, namely A857A, A756A, A5125A, A5157A, A5837A, A7147A, A7166A, & A7145B?
- Made of knitted polyester (woven), resistant to many solvent chemicals;
- Strong and durable so they have superior scrubbing ability;
- Soft and much less lint than foam swabs;
- Good for high precision lint-free cleaning applications.
#4. What are the features of electro-static dissipative (ESD) swabs (E750DF)?
- Tips are made out of special ESD safe close-cell PU foam and shaft materials
- Protects sensitive microcircuits from static discharge damage
- Dissipates existing static and prevents static build-up in use
- Usually more expensive than other swabs
What swabs I can use harsh solvents like acetone?
Although swabs are mostly compatible with alcohol, acetone can cause open-cell foam swabs to swell and break down. Close-cell polyurethane swabs are less affected, and our microfiber swabs are compatible with harsh solvents.
