It has 6 detents on the washer and thumbscrew. You can feel the detents as you tighten the thumbscrew.
The washer has dimples on 2 sides.

Installation:
Easy to install.
All you need to do is take off the saddlebag, pull the small wire clip off and install the new one which has a bolt on it. Then you thread the new lever into it and off you go
