How do I use a glove mallet?

A glove mallet helps break in and shape a new baseball or softball glove, making it more comfortable and improving performance. Pound the pocket of the glove and repeat as necessary. Afterwards, play catch to refine and further break it in the glove.

Is this mallet one piece or glued together?

Our mallets are hand turned from a single piece of hardwood maple. Unlike other mallets that are glued together to save costs, Rhino Wax Glove Mallets are completely solid.

Does my brand new glove need to be oiled or conditioned?

Typically new leather does not need to be oiled or conditioned. If you want to speed up the break in process you can use oil to soften the leather. This may darken the leather depending on the color and type of leather your glove is made from.

What is the difference between a softball and baseball mallet?

Both of our mallets are hand turned from a single piece of hardwood maple. The baseball mallet head is the size of a baseball meant to mimic the catching of a real ball. The softball mallet has a head that is larger to mimic the size of a softball.
