Description

A failed turbo wastegate control solenoid will result in no turbocharger boost because the wastegate is naturally in the open position when there is exhaust flow; it must be held closed by a vacuum source. When a wastegate solenoid fails or there is another fault in the system, a low power and/or heavy smoke condition will be experienced, especially during acceleration.

Replace Steps

  1. Disconnect the wire.
  2. Use flat head screwdriver to remove the air intake pipe.
  3. Take off the old turbo wastegate solenoid by pipe wrench.
  4. Assemble the new part tightly (counterclockwise direction).
  5. Screw back the air intake pipe and connect the wire back.
