It connects the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold and is controlled by either a vacuum or a built-in electric step motor. Control the flow of exhaust gas being recirculated depending on the engine load.
for 1995-2004 Tacoma EGR Valve 2.7L 3RZFE
for 1995-2000 Tacoma EGR Valve 2.4L 2RZFE
for 1994-1998 T100 EGR Valve 2.7L 3RZFE
for 1996-2000 4Runner EGR Valve 2.7L 3RZFE
EGR systems recycle a portion of the exhaust gas back into the combustion chamber, where it combines with fresh intake air.
The EGR valve begins working once the engine has started, attained the correct operating temperature and the vehicles speed increases. Gradually, the EGR valve regulates the flow of exhaust gases.
Once the vehicle slows down and the engine stops, the EGR valve will return to its closed position and prevent the flow of exhaust gases.
Pull out the vacuum tube;
Remove the clamp and pull out the cooling pipe;
Pull out the outlet pipe, which is connected with the differential pressure sensor;
Loosen the EGR intake end retaining nut;
Loosen the EGR valve fixing nut, take off the EGR valve on the vehicle, pay attention to take off the gasket; in some vehicles, the gasket will stick to the cushion, and it must be cleaned;
Take out the new EGR valve and gaskets, put on the EGR inlet end first (Do not tighten the EGR intake end retaining nut), and tighten the EGR valve fixing nut first;
Then tighten the EGR intake end retaining nut ;
Pull in the outlet pipe;
Plug in the cooling pipe and put on the clamp;
Plug in the vacuum tube.
