These Swiss-made, high-precision durable files by Glardon Vallorbe are manufactured from chrome alloy steel and heat treated by a special process to guarantee sharper teeth for outstanding cutting performance on all hard and soft metals, even including platinum. Flat face top and bottom is double cut. One side is single cut, and the other side is safe. File measurement is from the point to where the teeth end. A 6" precision file will measure 8-1/2" long from tip to end of tang, but it is called a 6" file. These Glardon Vallorbe files are graded with a number from 00 for coarsest to 6 for finest. *Please note that the higher the number is, the finer the cut.
