The tuba (or bass tuba) is a wind and orchestral brass instrument with the lowest range, invented by the German Weiplesit in 1835. There are four types of this instrument, E-flat and B-flat, C-flat and F-flat, and the tuba has a very deep tone, playing as the lowest voice in the orchestra, and is usually played with a strap on its chest for ease of walking and carrying. The tuba is the thickest and longest of the brass instruments, with a length ranging from 270cm to 590cm. The tuba is the largest bass brass instrument in the orchestra, with a mellow, low, majestic tone, and is the basis of orchestral harmony, along with the double bass. The tuba is mainly used for bass harmony or rhythm in the orchestra, but rarely for solo performance. In fact, the tuba is not only thick in the bass, its high register is also very beautiful, so modern composers occasionally use the tuba to play melodies, such as Ravels orchestration of "Picture Fair" in the "cattle drive" theme, is played with the tuba.
