Description

Sometimes referred to as "blinkers, race hoods are generally used to limit the horses peripheral vision (depending on whether a full cup or half cup is used) in order to encourage them to focus on the race rather than what is going on around them. This model (sometimes referred to as a "pacifier") has a metal mesh cage which covers the eye, protecting them from debris and has a remarkable calming effect on the horse. The mesh eye is laced onto the hoo, and includes a half cup which may be removed or repositioned as required. The mesh cage is removable so the hood can be washed. Because the mesh cage provides a solid surface over the eye to which cloth or tape can be affixe, it is also popular as tool for protecting eye injuries which require limited light. Color: Black
