Does that wheels only apply to the cricut?

They can be easily stabilized on a horizontal tabletop, and if they are on a slightly sloping tabletop, a table mat may help.

They sort of have a grinding/grating sound to them as they role？

The wheels are moved by a large steel ball, which does make some noise when used on hard surfaces (ceramic, glass, metal, wood). Laying leather, cloth or cutting mat on the moving surface will have a very good effect without affecting normal use.

Does it leave adhesive stains after taping?

We use high quality acrylic double sided tape on the back of the wheels, which is strong, easy to remove and does not leave any adhesive residue.
