How to choose between two sizes of grease seals when installing them
- Typically, older trailer axles use the larger 2.250" seal, while newer axles use the smaller 2.125" seal
- For a Dexter 7,000 lbs axle, there are two bearing kits available that differ only in the size of the grease seal
- To determine the correct size, use a set of digital calipers to measure the spindle where the grease seal sits, as shown in the included diagram. Please choose the grease seal size that matches your measurement

How to determine the seals and bearings needed for your trailer axles
- To determine the seal and bearings you need for your Trailer Axles you will need to pull a hub to get the bearing numbers of the inner bearing, outer bearing and grease/oil seal. And the numbers usually will be printed on the face of each bearing
- If you dont want to pull the seal to get the inner bearing, you can instead measure the trailer axle spindle using a digital caliper at the bearing locations and seal locations. We have attached a photo to assist
