Can you infuse anything into the veins or is it just for blood draws?
Yes, you can. You can use the arm to practice IVs, phlebotomy and injection techniques. For IVs make sure both inflow and outflow clips on the veins are open so that there is a continuous flow of fluid / "blood".
How many sticks can the venipuncture arm take before leaking?
It can handle hundreds of sticks (depending on the gauge needle used – we recommend 21/22/23G)
Also, hydro-static pressure plays a role so place the IV-bag about 12 inches above the arm.
I didnt get a flashback when the needle went into the vein. What should I do?
3 thing you can try:
1) Take a syringe and clear out any blockage in the veins.
2) Increase the height of the iv bag. This will increase the likelihood of the veins leaking.
3) Use a larger needle (lower gauge). This will increase wear and tear.
Are the items in the kit real?
Yes. The items in this kit are like those used in hospitals and manufactured under the same quality and safety standards.
