Tapered point reamer allows access to overlapping holes or precisely enlarges tapered holes, providing a smooth, precise finish. Spiral flutes help to effectively discharge chips when reaming, prevent chip clogging, reduce heat buildup, and improve cutting performance.
Taper chucking reamers are used to precisely enlarge, align or finish existing holes in most metals, mild steel, mild steel, alloys, copper, wood and plastic prior to rivet or bolt installation. Machine reamer works with electric hand drills, lathes, drill presses and screw machines. Apply a cutting fluid or lubricant to the reamer and workpiece. Note: A reamer bit is not a drill bit, it just aligns or enlarges a pre-drilled hole. Before using our tapered reamers to enlarge the hole, a hole with a smaller diameter than the reamer should already exist. If chips begin to clog the reamers chip flutes, cutting performance will be affected.
