Being in the wine business myself for over 10 years, I have used many openers… and most of them are terrible. So when it came time for me to create my own, I wanted to incorporate all the necessary conveniences that most corkscrews lack: a double lever to avoid any cork yanking, a 5-turn worm to ensure you get way down into the cork to reduce any breakage, a coated worm to ease into even the tightest cork and without any squeaks, a solid stainless-steel frame for durability, a rugged ABS plastic handle (wood is pretty, but not all that practical), a serrated stainless steel blade for a clean capsule cut, and a bottle opener for those in the group that might prefer a beer…. all for under $10.
